I am so excited to tell you about something that is near and dear to my heart today. I was introduced to the Teach Them Diligently Convention by a friend last year and was then able to meet some of the organizers and social media gurus at the Apologia Real Refreshment Retreat last year in Atlanta. After looking into this conference and listening to the glowing reports from my friend, our family decided to make plans to attend. We attended the conference in Spartanburg, SC last year and we loved the convenience of the short drive from Georgia and the friendly staff and speakers we encountered. We were blessed so much by the messages of the speakers that equipped us, encouraged us, refreshed us and changed us. I assisted in a small way with blogging for the conference as I was a very new blogger with little experience. This is a cause I believe in. As a second-generation homeschooler, I have fond memories of homeschool conferences that my family took annually. This was the first conference where we were able to take our whole family. We enjoyed the time away and the way we felt better prepared to face the upcoming school year. The conference followed our last week of school, so we were able to use it as a little getaway to celebrate the ending of school.

We have been studying American history for the last two years and the conference this year in D.C. will follow our last week of the 2013-2014 school year.
